SRCHA Money Earned Categories

Riders must complete the NonPro Declaration Form prior to showing in Non Pro Classes.

Earnings in Cutting or Ranch Cutting on any circuit will be used to initially categorize non pro riders into the divisions shown to the right.

Earnings in Working Cowhorse on any circuit will be used to initially categorize non pro riders into the divisions shown to the right.

Lifetime earnings in Reining, Ranch Horse Competition, Team Penning and/or Sorting will also be used (for new competitors) to help categorize members into the proper non pro divisions; by SRCHA Board review. Note: Novice Non Pro is designed for the “beginner rider” (drywork patterns normally do not require flying lead changes, for example) and Novice Non Pro is therefore not the correct category for experienced riders who simply do not have (recent) competition experience.

Based on money earned, a rider may meet requirements for Novice Non Pro in Ranch Cutting, but may meet requirements for Intermediate Non Pro in Working Cow Horse, for example.

The SRCHA is a grassroots Association promoting the sport of working cow horse to newcomers. Beginner riders can be comfortable knowing that if they start in the Novice Non Pro division, they are competing against other in-experienced riders who are also newcomers to the sport.

As the SRCHA develops, additional Limited Non Pro Divisions and Limited Rider classes will be added.

LIMITED NOVICE NON PRO (Boxing only optional class): SRCHA lifetime earnings of 0 - $50

NOVICE NON PRO: SRCHA lifetime earnings of 0 - $100

INTERMEDIATE NON PRO: SRCHA lifetime earnings of $101. - $500.

LIMITED NON PRO: SRCHA lifetime earnings of $501. - $900.

NON PRO RIDER: SRCHA lifetime earnings of $901. or more - or a combined total of $1400. or more in the 2 disciplines

A rider stays in the division for an entire show season, even if they earn $ that will move them into the next division in the following year.

"HORSE" divisions are available, based on age / experience of the horse & may be ridden by any level of rider; YOUTH divisions are available in 10-13 and 14-18 year old categories.
