SRCHA Rules and Regulations

SRCHA Divisions

YOUTH Rider 10-13: herd / rein (modified NRCHA pattern - no flying lead changes) / limited cow work (boxing)

 

YOUTH RIDER 14-18: herd / rein (NRCHA patterns)/ fence

$500 LIMIT NON PRO REIN/BOX: lifetime total earnings of $0-$500 herd/rein (NRCHA pattern)/ limited cow work (boxing)

$1000 LIMIT NON PRO REIN/BOX: lifetime total earnings of $501-$1000  herd/rein (NRCHA pattern)/ limited cow work (boxing)

 

REIN/BOX: open to all levels of non pro riders, and also to 'professional riders with money earnings in reined cow horse'; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / limited cow work (boxing)

$500 LIMIT NON-PRO: lifetime total earnings of 0-$500; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 

$2500 LIMIT NON-PRO: lifetime total earnings of $501-$2500; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 

$5000 LIMIT NON-PRO: lifetime total earnings of $2501-$5000; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 

NON PRO-RIDER: lifetime total earnings of $5001 or more; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 

3 YEAR OLD SNAFFLE BIT HORSE: any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence. Non Pro and Open classes may be offered separately at show hosts discretion.

 

4/5 YEAR OLD SNAFFLE BIT/HACKAMORE (Horse 4 & 5 years old): any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence. Non Pro and Open classes may be offered separately at show hosts discretion.

 

OPEN BRIDLE  Horse 3 yrs old or more ridden one handed in regulation bridle /romal; with optional Two Rein equipment allowed as follows: for one show season only, in Two Rein Equipment as follows: NRCHA regulation Two-Rein equipment will be allowed at SRCHA Jackpot Shows with not more than a total of $1500. added per day; with the rider to use one hand on the reins, any number of fingers between the reins permitted; for horses that have not been previously shown in a bridle down the fence in any judged classes: any level rider; herd / rein (NRCHA patterns) / fence

 

NOVICE HORSE:  For horses 6 years of age or more (as of January 1 of the current year).  Eligible for horses that have won up to, but NOT exceeding $250 in any other association or circuit outside of Working Cow Horse classes. If a horse is eligible for this class at the beginning of the show season based on money earned they shall remain in that division for the balance of the show season. After that time they will be required to show in their appropriate class. Horses must be shown either 1-handed in a regulation cow horse bit, with romal reins or in regulation two rein equipment or 1 or 2 handed in a regulation snaffle bit or regulation hackamore. Any level rider may show in this class.

 

* All riders MUST be SRCHA and SHF (Saskatchewan Horse Federation) members at time of competition

* A rider stays in his / her division for an entire show season, even if they earn monies that will move them into the next division in the following year
